INSTALLATION OVERVIEW

Installing your Courtyard gate is easy whether done by yourself, a landscaper, or local handy man. Our easy step by step guide insures your success.

Below is a basic outline to install your gate.

1. Hinge mounting surface, whether attached to a wall, existing post or a Courtyard steel post determines how to proceed. Each gate has a 2 piece split hinge. (see picture below) The upper half of the hinge with the female receptacle is welded to the gate. The bottom half of the hinge with the male pin is welded to a sturdy steel plate with holes for attaching to many surfaces.

2. Place the gate in the approximate position and support it in place with some wood shims from the bottom. Align the gate with the opening and connect the upper hinge together. Mark on the mounting surface the holes in the hinge plate.

3. Remove the gate and screw the upper hinge plate to the mounting surface.

4. Place the gate on the upper hinge and align into proper position. Check swing at this point to ensure no obstructions.

5. Place the lower hinge plate on the lower hinge and again mark the hole locations in the mounting surface.

6. Remove the gate and mount the lower hinge plate to the mounting surface. Reinstall the gate on both hinges and check swing

7. Mark where latch pin hits the mounting surface. Drill a hole approx 1/2” in the mounting surface for the gate latch.

Your gate is now ready for years of carefree enjoyment.
